Not sure who to praise more, the sheep or the shearer. Very good handling, that sheep probably felt fly as fuck afterwards.. most people don't realize that most modern breeds would be a tangled dying mess without shearing. if you're mad about that, blame people centuries ago
Thank you for posting a video to show that making wool doesn't have to be such a cruel process for the sheep as the mass-commercial stuff we see everywhere else.
I couldn’t tell if the sheep was dead or alive and I thought the ties were tooo much and it seemed like he tied them rough! Why do they have to tie their three feet if it’s sedated…A great point was made about traditions because for a lot of ppl tradition has been lost!!!!! Both forced and unknowingly…I would use clippers, some huge ones!!!
In Australia and New Zealand we don’t tie the sheep up and we don’t start on the neck blow like that we do the belly first. He sort of did it back the front. We get the fleece off in one piece so it can then be thrown on a table and skirted. This makes for a much better finished product.
Scientist have discovered a new technique for shearing of sheep which is used in some sheep sheds nowadays. This technique is called bioclipping. In this technique, the sheep is injected with special Hormones so that their fleece can be easily peeled of without using shears
so my hair sheep decided to shed all his fur in one big layer and i was thinking of making little sheep toys for my little cousins with popsicle sticks and bunches of sheep wool. i’m not really sure how to wash it or cut it or shape it. ( i’m 13) btw yes my profile picture is my sheep snowball
the only thing that could be considered cruel is the form of shearing here. as there are those out there who can shear a sheep without having to tie the legs together.
I do appreciate the fact that the sheep has a tail. Growing up Navajo my grandmother would always get after me if the tails were docked too short… "Would you like your own privates exposed!?"
THANX FOR THIS GREAT VIDEO-"LITTLE LAMB LITTLE LAMB HAVE YOU ANY WOOL?" (YES-LOTS OF IT & WE NEED A GOOD HAIRCUT VERY SOON TO GIVE IT TO YA!!) SHEEP SHEARING IS A REQUIREMENT IF YOU OWN SOME & DOES NOT HURT THE SHEEP (careful with the shears though) AMAZING AT HOW MUCH WOOL COMES FROM ONLY ONE SHEEP-CAN IT BE USED FOR STUFFING ITEMS LIKE PILLOWS & MATTRESSES? THIS IS WHAT THEY DID IN SICILY, ITALY-MY MOTHER USED TO TELL ME THIS STORY-WHEN THEY LEFT THEIR HOMELAND TO SETTLE HERE IN US (nyc) THEY BUNDLED UP SOME TO TAKE WITH THEM ON THEIR JOURNEY BY SHIP IN THE MID 1950's( THINKING THERE WAS NO WOOL HERE IN THE US?) & I STILL HAVE SOME OF THAT STUFFED IN PILLOWS WHICH MAKES THE ULTIMATE PILLOW STUFFER & VERY COMFORTABLE TO SLEEP ON OF COURSE!! & MUCH HEALTHIER THAN THE ACRYLIC FIBERFILL STUFFING THAT THEY SELL IN COMMERCIAL STORES. ALSO NOTICED THAT THE SPUN YARN LOOKED ALOT LIKE SPAGHETTI GOING INTO THE POT(very funny)! & THE PROCESS IS ALL BY HAND- WOW-A MACHINE AUTOMATED FREE VIDEO-THANX SO MUCH FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO! LOVE HOW THE COLORS CAME OUT TOO! BEAUTIFUL COLORS!
This process is difficult and time taking. https://www.deluxerugsncarpets.com.au/ provides the rugs which have strictly gone through all these procedures and provides the best to the customer. I have it's rug at my home and it was worth buying.
Watching him removing the last bits of wool from her legs….just like at the hairdresser's when they do a final trim!!

fanstastic….
they didn't show picking the wool, shaking it out, washing it, carding it- all the hard work that goes into preparing the wool before spinning?

I think it would've been easier for both of them if he had used a mower. (is it the correct word?)
And Jesus hair was like this?…… Hmmmm but he's white… Ill be glad when white dies off
Thank you for this beautiful video. Could you tell us what spinning wheel is being used ?
