  1. So what is the actual cameo itself made from ?? Is it resin or clay and which type please epoxy polyurethane ect

  2. Thank you so much for this video. I've been wanting to make cameos and this had some great info! 🙂

  3. Cameo's are too small for me as I'm looking for something a lot bigger to make with plaster of Paris and then paint.
I did 2 for my mother about 10yrs ago and these were about 4-5 inch big.

  4. Hi there! I looove the baroque/goth feel of these cameos.

I am moving in my new appartment in downtown montreal and i wanna give it a boudoir/baroque look. I bought a baroque frame (oval shaped) 18" by 13" and i wanna put a cameo inside of that big frame (so basically a huge cameo). I was wondering if you knew about a website or store that would sell Very large cameo molds? And if not, what should i do?

Thank you i love your work

  5. Hi! The varnish you mention in your video called Ceramcoat is pronounced:
sir-am-coat. I worked at Michael's for 5 years-ya,it took me a while before I found out the correct way to say it. Just thought you might want to know. If you have any questions about Michael's/or the products they offer/how to use them-please let me know! I would be glad to help. I am also into crafts, jewelry making, paper crafts/scrapbooking,etc. P.S. working at Michael's was the best job I ever had-I mostly just recycled my paychecks-from Michael's to Michael's!

  6. google air dry clay versus polymer clay – you get reviews from people tht have posted on these two products – this will let you know the differences for both types of clays – keeping in mind there are several brands, the one thing I can tell you is if you leave air dry clay open by accident, it will harden on you, if you leave the polymer clay open by accident, you can still use it after conditioning by hand and by machine

  7. google Mold Putty's website for mold putty and resin and all other products to use in the making of molds and this resin does not give out any smell, I work with it a lot in-doors with windows closed and there is no smell to deal with.

  8. Nice video I love cameos, I make molds large ones, and then I use plaster cheaper and easier sets in about 20 mins so many pieces from one bag wow!

  9. Great tutorial. I live in New Zealand, so not sure what would be available here, but we do have polymer clay, so I am going to see what else is available. Good to know about the resin!

  10. Do you find the air drying clay hard to dry enough, I used it in a little pot to hold a topiary tree, it grow mould was disgusting, spoiled a lovely project.

  11. THANK YOU FOR SHARING ..I HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT DOING THIS AND THIS SURE DID HELP ME…

  12. Why use stuff you need to bake when there is air dry clay available? I'm always wondering about this but no one seems to know!

  13. I've had a lot of success with mould making – it's also great fun. I made some very successful gear wheels and other bits and pieces using Friendly Plastic pellets – you soften them in hot water and press the soft plastic into the moulds. Easy peasy to do, with great results. You can paint it in the same way as polymer clay. I have also used air dry clay which doesn't have to be hardened in the oven.

  14. Thank you so much girl for the video! We don't have any mold putty in my country but I can't wait to try making my own mold from polymer clay! TFS. ^_^ Ann

  15. Gee, thanks for this video. I used to make polymer clay earings and broaches, basicly for myself. It appears all my clay has dried out (years old) as it keeps crumbling as I am trying to rework it. I guess I'll have to buy all new. You are inspiring me to get at it again. As you say, it is relaxing to play with it while watching TV. Just waiting for Michaels to be built in town. I gather you are in Canada as am I. Am going to subscribe to you and watch some more of your videos.

  16. omg'sh 40,000 views, you did a great job explaining! very inspiring.. thank you for sharing with all of us wanting to try..

  17. hi,ireally love some of your moulds.do you sell some of your embellishments?if you do i would like to buy some to go with my moulds.you inspire me.

  18. thanks for the tip on using the files for intracate designs! well done!

  19. Hi, first of all great video! Just a quick question, for the green cameo you show on your table, how did you get the white rose separate from the green, was that really the rub and buff stuff, it looks too good?

  20. to jump in your convo with Punkynpunkin, what if you want to paint the raised part a different color. Can you get the rub and buff in other colors?

  21. I'm new at this, but I seen someone use a clay that you can just leave to get hard by themselves without baking. Do you know which clay that it and do they sell molds at Michael's?

  22. I am wondering if you can make a tutorial on how to paint the Cameos. I would love to see you how you do it step by step because I can't find any tutorial on that and it would be very helpful for me. Thank you.

  23. I love it, i was already doing my own cameo molds but it was so difficult to peel, but the powder trick is awesome thank you :D, btw adorable mini album i love i how youu match the colours and textures in it 🙂

  24. Thanks for the tutorial! Sculpey has a great product called "Mold Maker" that makes a flexible mold. I really like it for making molds. I press the clay in and then pop it in the freezer for a few minutes before removing it. This keep the clay from distorting when you take it out.

  25. OMG …TFS…. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR CAMEOS LIKE A MAD WOMEN, AND CAN'T FIND THEM ANY WHERE …GOOD THING I HAVE BEEN HOARDING ONE VERY PRETTY ONE …SO I WILL BE MAKING MY OWN NOW…… LOL …..HUGS… MIMI

  27. *whew* finally a tutorial for polymer clay that wasn't either totally uninformative or made by a twelve year old that makes me feel like a dork because I'm making stuff little kids wear. LOL. Thank you! I've been hunting all over for a mold/cameo/polymer clay tutorial! This had it all!

  28. hi how do u get the cameos bicolored like they r , like white pic and green background?????? I have made polymer clay molds for pmc silver clay, my email is dviner@yahoo.com thx , deb

  29. very nice and well explained. it is nice to hear someone in Canada complaining like I do about Micheals not carrying here what they carry in the States. Merry Christmas.

  30. If you are going to use a Plaster use the one called ( Hydrocal ) Its a lot stronger
    great video thanks

  31. May I know where U get the original white frame and cameo from? Is it from Melissa Frances? Been trying to get something like that. Thanks.

  32. Where did you purchase the cameos that you used for the molds? How did you color them when you made them using the molds?

  33. Nice video! I thought I'd let you know that EasyCast Clear Casting epoxy is an odor free resin that is very easy to use and does not stink up your house. The dyes you have will work with it too.

  34. Hey Sandi, after hunting everywhere for the clay I've finally found some only to be told they've sold out so I have to wait a few more weeks for them to restock. But Im so happy I have. Cant wait to play. Thanks again girl you really have started a bug lol.
    Hugs
    Shonz
