I’ve been searching all morning for a detailed description or article about white cotton candy and all I could find are pictures of modern spinning machines that produce the synthetic pink cotton candy on a stick. What you are going to see below is a premiere and an answer to many of your questions about our local, authentic, homemade white cotton candy or “Ghazl el Banet”.

  1. It's called "pişmaniye" its an turkish/bosnian sweet in fine strands made by blending flour roasted in butter into pulled sugar Allthough the texture is similar to Cotton Candy. It is widely known as Turkish Cotton Candy

  2. This you tube video gives the recipe but I don't know how to translate it.

  3. I make cotton candy but this is truly special.  Is a recipe available?  Don't speak the language so really don't want to guess on ingredients.

  4. How super cool is that!! In this day & age where food is machine-made, hybridized, and genetically-modified; it is really refreshing to see artisans making candy the old-fashioned way probably using a method that has been there for hundreds of years since this is the Middle East.  And to see the senior chef working the dough along with the young chefs is so endearing 🙂  I hope their business thrives and people appreciate their hard work.
