Some more thoughts on this; We really wanted to make a guide to help others sell handmade products at craft fairs, online, and wholesale, and share some of our experiences with each type. Everyone who has tried these methods has a different take on them of course, and it depends on what types of projects you are making and selling, but hopefully our personal experiences will help others who are interested in selling handmade products.

We think one cool thing about selling handmade is you can do it as a full business or as a side hustle, so it’s easy to dip your toes into it. We started out doing pop up shops and starting an Etsy page, and these led us to joining the West Elm local program where we started selling wholesale. We’d love to hear others’ tips and tricks as well, since we are still learning lots the more we do this. Do you guys prefer small craft fairs, bigger trade shows, selling online on Etsy or your own store, selling wholesale, etc?

  1. We wanted to tell the story of how we started selling products in more detail, and why we eventually stopped (AKA… going full time on YouTube) but didn't have the right place to tell the story till we started a podcast! Get the full scoop in episode 009, available on your favorite podcast app or: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsVBPraUOFE

  2. You guys are adorable 😍 Thank you for sharing this video. Btw, where did you get the price list wooden board?

  3. Great advice, but most of the items I saw are not "handmade" although they are very good ideas.

  4. You both are such a cute, fun & dear couple!!!!💞 I enjoyed your tips & how fun you made it. Your products look super cool too. I’m starting a new adventure…candle making & have been super excited to test out blends and see if this is something I want to do pop up shops & markets and I’m trying to figure out if Etsy is an approach for me and I was leaning towards no for same reason you mentioned that someone can come there and see something similar & buy from another shop. Sooo I’m working on website & going to see where it goes with things. Thanks so much for your video, just subbed, going to check out your website now.👏🏻

  5. Good Lord we have a long way to go ! But thanks for the incite into this as we are starting our venture into it.Doug

  6. This is a Fab video im going to show it you by GCSE students who are studying enterprise and business innovation.

  7. Ok , I like your videos (he ones i've seen), you have some good advice etc… but I do not see any handmade products here. You have CNC routers and 3D printers making things but you have NO handmade things…

  8. Hello!! I see you went to West Elm Pop Up store! We will be there January 4-5 in Puerto Rico, any tips?

  9. Thanks for posting guys!! Really appreciate the insight, this kind of info is not always readily available 😁

  10. Perfect True-love is when, partners are of same type, both are bit crazy and full of fun, I like the channel, and I have learn a lot… I am perfect is 3D design, and have building some of my own CNC and 3D printers, often i like reverse engineering things when customer have broken part of machine etc…. but whole of 2018 I couldn't generate sufficient funds to sustain the business. in 2019 I need to think of other easy manufacturing products that may easily sell… which is not easy in NAMIBIA, where everyone favor (made in china) than local/home made products, else they will force you to drop your price to a point of no profit. thanks for giving me courage i will keep pushing more!

  11. Doesn't seem like you believe much in your own message. I've been to Etsy looking for your 'products' as well as your own website @evenandkatelyn.com and all I saw was t shirts. Not much of a business model. Are those t shirts sourced from China?

  12. do you find that is is cost effective NOT to replicate your work on a 3D printer… i am planing on replicating and selling my model props.. but i am planing on making them on a 3 d printer, can you answer this please.. thanks.

  13. Can you please do a tutorial on how to start a blog for beginner's I new to creating a online business for my Crochet hats and Scarfs and Headband Earwarmers

  14. I honestly dont see anything original in what you make ….just copies of other stuff already for sale (like ikea etc…) do something ORIGINAL ! That's what i did and now i'm a millionaire….and people copy me…. just saying…. and get rid of patreon…. its for beggars not business men… sorry to sound a little hars…but honestly it was like watching a blue peter program.

  15. For taxes… Research LLC (Limited Liability Company) pro's and con's. My country does not have it. hopefully it works out for you guys. subbed

  16. Do you guys still do pop ups and such now that you are full-time Content Creators?
    Also…
    What are PopUps?

  17. I can't decide if this is a romance video or a business training. I focused on the romance side and I think you guys have a wonderful relationship. Wishing you many happy days ahead. I have nothing to sell.

  18. This was so helpful and not dry with info. I started 3 yrs ago and each year better. But one online, scared but pushing more on promoting self on Social media to sell online. But after 22yrs on main job, looking for a part tine n focus on business w husband blessing. Again glad found your vid inspiring.📌✂

  19. You guys brand EVERYTHING. I think that's a really good idea I need to start doing. I usually make a really good profit at art shows, renaissance faires, and pop ups. but online it's meh… I think I make nice jewelry, but I think jewelry is a REALLY over saturated market. But, it' what I love doing 🙂

  20. Great first part of this series! Really want to know more on the tax side and the logistics and cost to starting and filing a business. Personal or LLC?
