Making a DIY Cajon out of plywood.

The dimensions are:
width: 30 cm / 11.8 inch
height: 40 cm / 15.7 inch
depth: 27 cm / 10.6 inch

Back panel: 4 mm plywood
Front panel: 3 mm plywood

The snares are adjustables by turning the wooden rod (reachable through the sound hole in the back).

  1. I will now attempt this with my Harbor Freight tools. No router but I do know how to Mickey Mouse a drill.

  2. Without looking at the channels name I knew you are Dutch, because I use a lot of the same stuff I buy from Action.

  3. looks very easy to build and also the design is very clean.
    Sounds good for a first cajon but amazing for one that you can build with your hand.
    I will probably try it for myself, thanks.

  4. How thick is wood for another panels ? 🙂
    I mean front 3mm, back 4mm but this plank for the anothers panels?
